Fletcher Benton and his artFletcher Benton (1931- ) After receiving his B.F.A. from Miami University Benton, a native of Jackson, Ohio, moved to San Francisco where he gained an international reputation as a teacher and as a pioneering kinetic sculptor and where he developed his celebrated alphabet series. His large-scale outdoor sculptures in painted steel are in major collections throughout the United States and abroad.
